VALVE SPRINGS
Check the valve springs for proper strength by measuring
their free length and also the force required to compress
them. If the spring length is less than the service limit or if
the force required to compress the spring does not fall with-
in the specified range, replace the spring.

Service Limit
Valve spring free length (IN. & EX.): 40.1 mm (1.58 in)
Standard
Valve spring tension (IN. & EX.): 18.4-21.6 kg/35.0 mm
REASSEMBLY
Reassemble the cylinder head in the reverse order of dis-
assembly. Pay attention to the following points: • Install
each valve spring seat
• Apply molybdenum oil solution to the valve stem seal ,
and press-fit the seal into position by hand.
A CAUTION
Do not reuse the valve stem seals.
