print unit(s) are
damaged.
The printer is not on a
level enough surface.
The media path is
dirty with toner.
One or more of the
print unit(s) are
scratched or
damaged.
One or more of the
toner cartridges are
low or out.
The front door may
not be properly
closed.
One or more of the
print units are not
correctly seated.
One or more of the
print units are
defective.
The media is moist
from humidity.
Solving Problems—Printing Quality
Solution
Remove the print unit(s) with the color
causing the abnormal image and
check for damage. If damaged, replace
it (them).
Level the printer.
Print several sheets and the excess
toner should disappear.
Remove the print unit(s) and check the
green photosensitive surface for
scratches. If damaged, replace it
(them).
Check the control panel for a TONER
LOW X or TONER EMPTY/REPLACE X
message. If necessary, replace the
specified toner cartridge.
Make sure that the printer's front door
is closed.
Remove the print unit(s) and reinstall it
(them).
Remove the print unit(s) and check for
damage. If damaged, replace it (them).
Remove the moist media and replace it
with new, dry media.
