Upstream SNR
This field displays the actual upstream SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio) margin in decibel (dB). SNR
Margin
measures the relative strength of the ADSL signal compared to background noise.
Downstream
This field displays the actual downstream SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio) margin in decibel (dB).
SNR Margin
SNR measures the relative strength of the ADSL signal compared to background noise.
Port X (where x is a port number in the Port column)
The following fields display information about the port.
Upstream (ATU-
ATU-R (ADSL Termination Unit-Remote) refers to the channel for traffic coming to the IES from
R)
the subscriber (upstream).
Downstream
ATU-C (ADSL Termination Unit-Central) refers to the channel for traffic going from the IES to
(ATU-C)
the subscriber (downstream).
Attenuation
Attenuation measures how much the signal has degraded as it travels from the ADSL port to the
modem and vice-versa. The smaller the number, the better.
Output Power
Output power indicates how much power the ADSL line is sending to the modem connected to
the port. You will see power increase as loop length increases.
Attainable Rate
Attainable rate indicates the overall quality of the loop. The maximum rate for ADSL is about
1500Kbps/8000Kbps. If your attainable rate is approaching these values you have a very
good/short loop.
Interleave Delay
This field displays the number of milliseconds (1-255) of interleave delay to use for
upstream/downstream transfers.
