Proxy Server

A proxy server is a server that acts as a go-between for requests from clients seeking resources from
other servers.
A client connects to the proxy server and requests service. The proxy server filters the request against
its filtering rules and if it meets the rule it allows the connection.
A proxy server has two purposes:
For security, keeps the device behind it anonymous.
Speeds up access to a resource (via caching). It is commonly used to cache web pages from a web
server.
The Internet Services Proxy Server page allows you to enter the address of the Proxy Server which the
device can use. If your network does not use a proxy server you do not need to enable the proxy server
setting.
