WATER PUMP
REMOVAL
Engine coolant may be harmful if swallowed or if it
comes in contact with the skin or eyes. If engine cool-
ant gets into the eyes or contacts the skin, flush the
eyes or wash the skin thoroughly, with plenty of water.
If engine coolant is swallowed, induce vomiting and
call a physician immediately.
The engine must be cool before servicing the cooling
system.
WATER PUMP CASE
• Drain engine oil. ("2-11)
• Remove the right front protector 1.
• Drain engine coolant by removing the drain bolt 2.
• Disconnect the radiator hose 3.
• Remove the water pump case 4.
NOTE:
Use the pry points A to remove the case.
CRANKCASE COVER
• Remove the brake pedal. ("16-18)
• Remove the kick starter lever. ("8-3)
• Remove the oil filter 1.
• Remove the right crankcase cover 2.
IMPELLER AND GEAR SHAFT
• Hold the water pump shaft 1 with a wrench and remove the
impeller 2.
