Master Cylinder Inspection; Master Cylinder Cleaning - Suzuki RM-Z450 Owner's Service Manual

• Remove the dust boot 5.
• Remove the snap ring 6 with snap ring pliers.
( 09900-06108: Snap ring pliers
• Remove the washer 7 and piston/cup set 8.

MASTER CYLINDER INSPECTION

• Inspect the cylinder bore and piston for scuffing, wear and
damage.
• Inspect the piston rod and spring for damage.
• Replace the defective parts with a new one.

MASTER CYLINDER CLEANING

• Flush the master cylinder ports with pressurized air.
• Wash the master cylinder bore and piston with fresh brake
fluid.
! Specification and classification: DOT 4
NOTE:
Do not use gasoline or other cleaning solvents to wash the mas-
ter cylinder parts.
