Step Check items
1 Is the needle electrode dirty or
deformed?
2 Are the fuser roller, separation finger
for fuser roller and thermistor dirty?
3 Has the cleaning roller, pressure
roller, fuser roller and separation fin-
ger for fuser roller reached their PM
life?
4 Is the high-voltage transformer out-
put defective?
5 Is there a deep scratch on the drum
surface?
6 Is there thin scratch (drum pitting) on
the drum surface?
7 Are the original glass (especially the
position of shading correction plate)
and CIS unit dirty?

Prescription
Clean or replace the needle elec-
trode.
Clean them.
Replace them.
Adjust the output, or replace the
transformer.
Replace the drum if the scratch has
reached the aluminum base.
Check and adjust the contact condi-
tion of the cleaning blade and recov-
ery blade.
Clean them.
