Installation Procedures
Installing the Controller Cabinet
For safe, reliable operation, select an installation site for the Intelli-Sense
controller that provides the following conditions:
Protected from direct exposure to irrigation spray, afternoon sun,
wind and snow
Access to a grounded 120 VAC circuit that is not controlled by a
light switch or utilized by a major electric appliance
Access to all field wiring.
1. Open the controller door. Push the control module latch to the right
and pull the module outward from right to left.
Note: If the controller is to be mounted on drywall or masonry,
screw anchors must be installed for a secure installation.
2. Using a
" bit, drill through

lower mounting pilot holes as
needed.
3. Install the top mounting screw
leaving approximately
the screw shaft exposed.
4. Place the controller on the screw
using the keyhole slot. Slide the
controller down to capture the
screw head in the top of the slot.
5. Use a pen or scribe to mark the lower mounting hole locations.
Remove the controller and install the lower mounting screw anchors.
6. Reposition the controller and install the lower mounting screw(s).
Note: The control wiring access hole in the base of the cabinet
accepts 2" conduit. Install conduit at this time as required by

Connecting the Control Wires

Note: Using 18-gauge, irrigation valve connection cable is recommended.
Select a cable that provides at least one wire for each valve and one extra
wire for the valve common connection.
1. To provide the valve common connection, splice one cable wire
(generally a white wire) to one solenoid lead from each valve.
2. Connect a separate wire to the remaining solenoid lead of each valve.
For reference, note the color used for each valve wire connection, it's
associated watering area and the intended station number.
