2. The separately purchased telephone will ring a
designated number of times (1 - 11).
* In order to set the number of times the telephone will
ring, refer to Memory Switch No. 04: "Number of
Rings", page 140.
* If the telephone receiver is picked up while the bell is
still ringing, the facsimile will deal with this the same
as a standard manual fax reception. Refer to "Manual
fax reception", page 71, and perform the procedure
explained there starting from step 3.
If you are connected to a telephone...
3. A different bell will ring in the fax for 25
seconds.
* If the telephone receiver is not picked up
while this bell is still ringing, the
facsimile will switch to fax reception.
* The volume of this bell can be set to one
of 3 levels. (Refer to Memory Switch
No. 93: "Operator-Call Bell Volume",
page 142.)
4. Pick up the receiver and speak with the
other party.
At the end of the conversation, fax
reception may be initiated manually.
