  • Page 12: Introduction

INTRODUCTION The facsimile machine that you have purchased will enable you to communicate with a vast number of correspondents all over the world. The machine in your possession is MULTIFUNCTIONAL. This means that, as well as being able to send and receive documents quickly and easily using its wide range of facsimile features, you can connect it to a personal computer and use it as a scanner , when you need to capture pictures, a printer , when you have to print documents on the PC and enables you to send and receive documents on a personal computer (for more detailed information, contact your local dealer).

METHODS OF MAKING A CALL (DIALLING) One of the essential operations involved in sending a document is dialling the correspondent's facsimile number. During this preliminary phase, the facsimile machine connects to the telephone line and dials the number you enter. Your device can store a large number of numbers and associate additional information with them, thus creating an electronic telephone directory which not only saves you time but eliminates the risk of making dialling errors.
