Setup
Opening the
1. Use the mouse to point to File in the application's Menu Bar and click on Print Setup... in
the drop-down menu which is displayed. (Depending on the application in use, the name of
the menu commands may vary, and, in some cases, access may be through the Print
command.)
2. If this printer is not selected in the Print Setup dialogue box, use the drop-down menu to
select it.
It is also possible to select defaults for the desired orientation, size of paper and the desired
cassette, in either this or the following dialogue box.
3. Click on Options....
The Setup dialogue box will appear.

In order to print out a file directly from within an application, it is NOT necessary to open the Setup
dialogue box. However, in order to change such settings as the number of copies desired or to
change the orientation and size of the print out, it is necessary to control the printing procedure from
this dialogue box.
* There are some applications which allow you to make settings such as the number of copies from
within the application itself. In general, such settings should be ignored, and only those settings in
the Setup dialogue box used. If the settings within the application are used, they may be applied
simultaneously with those in the Setup dialogue box and unexpected results may occur in the
printout.
