Dot Matrix and Fixed Pitch Fonts
Select this option if your original contains mostly Fixed Pitch or
Dot Matrix fonts.
Display Uncertain Characters As
Enter the character that is displayed before all characters that the
OCR operation is uncertain of.
Language
Select the appropriate language you want to use from the drop
down list.

Converting Fixed Pitch and Dot Matrix Images To Text

The quality of the recognition will be improved when your images
contain predominantly dot matrix or fixed pitch fonts. This is done by
selecting the Dot Matrix or Fixed Pitch Fonts mode on the OCR
tab.
From the View menu, select Properties.
Select the OCR tab.
Select the Dot Matrix or Fixed Pitch Fonts option.
Select the OK pushbutton.

Converting landscape and upside down image files

If any of the images in your original file are in the landscape orienta-
tion or are upside down, you must manually Rotate them to the
Portrait orientation or have the OCR application automatically adjust
for the orientation of the page. (Note: Having the OCR application
automatically adjust for the page orientation, will increase the
length of time required to convert the image to text.)
To automatically adjust for the page orientation:
From the View menu, select Properties.
Select the OCR tab and select the Automatically Adjust for
Page Orientation option.
