  • Page 3 2. Trays Attach the document tray. Insert the paper tray into the back of the machine as shown. Pull out the original document support and the output tray. Note: When receiving faxes, copying or printing, do not let a large number of pages accumulate in the output tray. This may obstruct the outlet and cause paper jams.

  • Page 5 Connections Parallel cable Connect the Sharp Color MFP to your computer with a parallel cable. If you do not have a parallel cable, you can purchase one from your dealer or any computer store. Make sure the cable is IEEE 1284-compliant. We recommend a shielded cable no longer than 2 meters.

    Connections Power lead Plug the power lead into a 230-240 V, 50 Hz, earthed (3-prong) AC outlet. Caution: When disconnecting the fax, unplug the telephone line cord before unplugging the power lead. Caution: The mains outlet (socket outlet) should be installed near the equipment and be easily accessable.

    5. Loading Printing Paper You can load A4 size paper in the paper tray. The maximum number of sheets is: 200 for paper from 60 to 80 g/m 150 for paper from 80 to 90 g/m (such as coated paper) Remove the paper cover if it is on the paper tray.

    1. Make sure that the Sharp Color MFP is connected to your computer with a parallel cable as explained in Section 3, Connections. 2. Make sure the Sharp Color MFP is on (the power cord is plugged into an outlet).

    9. Selecting the Reception Mode The Sharp MFP has four modes for receiving incoming calls and faxes: TEL mode: This is the most convenient mode for receiving phone calls. You can also receive faxes; however, all calls must first be answered by picking up the fax’s handset or an extension phone connected to the same line.
