Parallel cable
Connect the Sharp Colour MFP to your computer with a parallel cable.
If you do not have a parallel cable, you can purchase one from
your dealer or any computer store.
Make sure the cable is IEEE 1284-compliant. We recommend a
shielded cable no longer than 2 meters.
1
Make sure your computer is turned off
and the Sharp Colour MFP is
unplugged.
2
Connect one end of the cable to the
port on the Sharp Colour MFP. Snap
the clips on each side of the port onto
the cable connector to secure it.
3
Connect the other end of the cable to
the parallel port on the back of your
computer.
Note: The parallel port mode of your computer should be set to ECP mode.
To check or change the parallel port mode, run your computer's setup
(BIOS) program after powering on your computer. (Refer to your computer
documentation for more information). Note that if you encounter problems
with ECP mode, you can try Nibble mode or an equivalent mode such as
Compatible, PS/2, Standard, Normal or Traditional mode; however, a
slower colour scanning speed may result.
