The SRX240 Services Gateway High Memory with DC Power Supply model and SRX240
Services Gateway High Memory with AC Power Supply model has one air filter that installs
vertically in the rear of the chassis. The air filter is hot-insertable and hot-removable.
NOTE:
An air filter is not shipped with the SRX240 Services Gateway High
Memory with AC Power Supply model. To meet NEBS requirements, you
must order the air filter separately. Contact your Juniper Networks customer
service representative for more information.
Description
To maintain the power supply on the services
gateway:
Ensure that the power and grounding cables are
arranged so that they do not obstruct access to
other device components.
Periodically inspect the site to ensure that the
grounding and power cables connected to the
device are securely in place and that there is no
moisture accumulating near the device.
CAUTION:
We recommend using a surge protector
for the power connection.
Periodically replace the filter in use. We recommend
that you replace the filter every six months as a
dirty air filter restricts airflow in the unit, reducing
the ventilation of the chassis. The filter degrades
over time.
Store spare air filter in a dark, cool, and dry place.
Storing air filter at higher temperatures, or where
they can be exposed to ultraviolet (UV) radiation,
hydrocarbon emissions, or vapors from solvents,
can significantly reduce their life.
NOTE:
Always keep the air filter in place while the
device is operating. Because the fans are very
powerful, they could pull small bits of wire or other
materials into the device through the unfiltered air
intake. This could damage the device components.
