7.11 % Duty Cycle Function Specifications

7.11.1 Introduction
Duty Cycle is a derived (relative) quantity which describes the Pulse Width / Repetition Period ratio of a pulsed waveform. In the
9100, it is expressed as a percentage. The values of Pulse Width and Repetition Period will change with frequency, while
maintaining the same percentage ratio.
Hardware limitations drive the % Duty Cycle to a limit only when the Pulse Width and Repetition Period intervals reach their
individual limits at particular frequencies. This means that any accuracy specification must be expressed in terms of constituent
time intervals.
