1-7. Hook oil amount (track of oil) adjustment

WarNING :
Be extremely careful about the operation of the machine since the amount of oil has to be checked by
turning the hook at ahigh speed.
1 oil amount (track of oil) test paper
about 70 mm
* It is not necessary to be fussy about the paper quality.

of the hook.

) Check that the ol amount n the hook s proper
aganst the ol gauge.
2) Set the sewng machne at 4,000 st/mn referrng to
"!-3-15. Break-in operation"
sewng machne run dle for about three mnutes.
3) Place an oil amount checking paper in the specified
poston whle the sewng machne s n operaton.
4) Check the oil amount (trace of oil) in five seconds.
(Confirm the time with your watch.)
(1) Sample of the correct oil amount (trace of oil)
1) The oil amount in the sample shown in the figure
on the left should be fnely adjusted to ncrease/
decrease it properly. When finely adjusting the oil
amount, be careful not to excessvely ncrease or
decrease t.
When the ol amount s too small = The hook may
be sezed. (The hook may become hot.)
When the ol amount s too large = The sewng ma-
teral would be staned wth ol.
2) The ol amount s checked on the condton that the
amount of ol on the three sheets of the ol amount
checkng paper must be unform.

) Remove throat plate 1 . Turn ol amount adjust-
ment screw 2 n the "+" drecton (drecton A ) to
ncrease the ol amount (tract of ol). Turn the screw
n the "–" drecton (drecton B ) to decrease t.
2) After the ol amount s adjusted usng ol amount
adjustment screw 2 , run the sewng machne dle
for approxmately 30 seconds and confrm the ol
amount (tract of ol).
