* NOTE Vehicle damage from the jack
If you do not position the jack correctly at the
appropriate jack support point of the vehicle,
the jack could tip over with the vehicle raised.
The jack is designed exclusively for
#
jacking up the vehicle at the jack sup‐
port points.
Requirements:
There are no persons in the vehicle.

The vehicle is prepared for changing a wheel
R
(
page 268).

Important notes on using the jack:
Only use the vehicle-specific jack that has
R
been tested and approved by Mercedes-Benz
to raise the vehicle. If the jack is used incor‐
rectly, it could tip over while the vehicle is
raised.
The jack is designed only to raise the vehicle
R
for a short time while a wheel is being
changed and is not suitable for carrying out
maintenance work under the vehicle.
Avoid changing a wheel on uphill and downhill
R
slopes.
The jack must be placed on a firm, flat and
R
non-slip surface. If necessary, use a large,
flat, load bearing and non-slip underlay.
The base of the jack is positioned vertically
R
under the jack support point.
Safety instructions while the vehicle is raised:
Do not put your hands or feet under the vehi‐
R
cle.
Do not lie underneath the vehicle.
R
Do not start the vehicle and do not release
R
the parking brake.
Do not open or close any doors.
R
Jacking points
