You can choose between the following settings:
Off
R
Standard: normal system sensitivity.
R
Sensitive: higher system sensitivity. The driver
R
is warned earlier and the attention level
detected by the system (Attention Level) is
adapted accordingly.
Traffic Sign Assist
Function of Traffic Sign Assist
Traffic Sign Assist aids you by displaying detected
speed limits and overtaking restrictions in the
instrument cluster.
Since Traffic Sign Assist also uses the data
stored in the navigation system, it can also
update the display without detecting traffic signs.
The camera also detects traffic signs with a
restriction indicated by an additional sign (e.g.
when wet).
%
Traffic signs are only displayed with the
restriction indicated by an additional sign in
the following cases:
the traffic signs must be observed with
R
the restriction
the system is unable to clearly determine
R
whether the restriction applies
If the system detects that you are driving onto a
section of road in the wrong direction of travel, it
triggers a warning. This function is not available
in all countries.
Traffic Sign Assist is only an aid and is not always
able to correctly display speed limits and overtak‐
ing restrictions. The actual traffic signs always
have priority over the Traffic Sign Assist display.
Observe the notes on driving systems and your
responsibility; you may otherwise fail to recog‐
nise dangers (
page 155).

shade conditions, or due to rain, snow, fog or
heavy spray.
If there is glare, e.g. from oncoming traffic,
R
direct sunlight or reflections.
If there is dirt on the windscreen in the vicin‐
R
ity of the multifunction camera or if the cam‐
era is misted up, damaged or obscured.
If the traffic signs are hard to detect, e.g. due
R
to dirt or snow, or because they are covered,
or due to insufficient lighting.
If there are ambiguous signs, e.g. traffic signs
R
in road works or adjacent lanes.
If the information in the navigation system's
