Manual Association Process

If an association was previously established between a WCI and a sensor and needs to be re-
established, the manual association process may be used. The process for the WCS-SO/SCO
slightly from other sensors.
WCS-SO, -SCO
To activate this process from a blank screen or an error screen, push the UP arrow on the WCS keypad.
The association process will be repeated as the display shows rotating segments.
Note: Pressing the UP arrow will repeat the joining/associating process from the last point of failure. In

Disassociation

If any address—group/net, unit controller, or sensor # — is changed in a sensor that is associated with a
controller, the sensor will transmit a request for the controller to disassociate the sensor immediately.
If a controller does not receive any messages from a sensor for 34 minutes, it will disassociate that
sensor. Only after a sensor has been disassociated can the controller accept association from a
replacement sensor.

Replacing a Failed WCS

To replace a failed WCS:
1. Remove failed sensor from the wall.
2. Disassociate the sensor from the unit controller by using one of the three methods described below.
3. On the new sensor, set the address and configuration to match the original sensor.
