Installing the rear wheel

Warning
Danger of accidents

Always keep the brake discs free of oil and grease.
-
Clean the brake discs with brake cleaner when necessary.
-
Remove spacers
Oil or grease on the brake discs reduces the braking effect.
Main work
-
Check the wheel bearing for damage and wear.
If the wheel bearing is damaged or worn:
-
Change the rear wheel bearing.
Clean and grease shaft seal rings

Long-life grease
-
Insert the spacers.
-
Lift the rear wheel into the swingarm, position it, and insert wheel spindle @.
-
Mount the chain.
✓ The brake linings are correctly positioned.
-
Position chain adjuster @). Mount nut
-
Make sure that chain adjusters @) are fitted correctly on adjusting screws
-
Check the chain tension.
-
Tighten nut

The wide adjustment range of the chain adjusters (32 mm (1 .26 in))
enables different secondary ratios with the same chain length.
Chain adjusters@) can be turned by 180

Operate the foot brake lever repeatedly until the brake linings are in contact with
the brake disc and there is a pressure point.
Finishing work
-
Remove the motorcycle from the lift stand.
