populated slots. 7210 SAS-R12 supports only CPM and IMMs. It does not support any physical
removable MDAs. Software uses logical MDAs internally to represent the ports on the IMMs and
the MDA type is auto-provisioned by software when the IMMs are provisioned. Please check the
latest release notes for a list of supported card types (that is, CPM and IMMs). For more

On 7210 SAS-R6, a mix of IMMv1 (identified as imm-sas-r) and IMMv2 (identified as
imm-sas-r-b) cannot be used simultaneously in the same node. In other words, all the slots
need to be populated with either IMMv1 or IMMv2, a mix is not supported. Additionally,
the user must configure up front the type of IMMs they intend to populate in the node so
that appropriate resources can be allocated on system bootup. Please see the command
config>system>chassis> allow-imm-family in the 7210 SAS-M,X,T, R6, R12, Mxp
Basics System Configuration User Guide.
On 7210 SAS-R12, only IMMv2 (identified as imm-sas-r-b) is used. For more
