CAUTION
• During an examination, do not touch the contact of
the connector, the device connected to the connec-
tor, and the patient at the same time . Touching them
at the same time may cause an electric shock .
• Never keep the transducer on the same region
of the patient's body to prevent the risk of a low-
temperature burn .
• Do not use this system with a defibrillator. Doing so
may cause an electric shock .
• Do not use this system with an electrical surgical
equipment . Doing so may cause an electric shock .
• Do not place any objects on top of the system .
They may fall, causing injury .
• Do not step on or trip over the power supply cord of
the system . Doing so may cause injury or damage
to the system .
• Before disconnecting the power supply cord from the
wall mounted AC socket outlet, be sure to turn OFF
the power of the system, then clean the system .
• Check and clean the vent holes periodically to
avoid overheating inside the system and a fire.
• Turn the power OFF and disconnect the power sup-
ply cord, and remove the battery before cleaning
the system . Otherwise, there is a risk of electric
shock .
• Do not place the system within 100 mm from the
wall in order to keep the vent holes on both sides of
the system effective. Doing so may get burned or
damage to the system .
• Use new protective gloves and a new transducer
cover to prevent infection each time you use the
transducer .
– Refer to the FDA's March 29, 1991 Medical Alert
on Latex Products .
• Use of the Pole Cart2 is the responsibility of the
user .
– To prevent an accident or injury, be sure to care-
fully read "Pole Cart2" of the "Operation Manual:
Applications" and to follow the instructions there-
in .
• Use a water-based ultrasound gel . Use of other
lubricants may cause transducer degradation and
electric shock .
– Please select and use an appropriate ultrasound
gel on the market .
• Use this system with proper posture . Use with im-
proper posture by operator may cause injury due to
fatigue .
• Be sure to enter the correct data such as ID, name
and values for doing study . Incorrect data will result
in incorrect diagnosis .
– Please read this manual to enter the correct ID,
name and values .
• Ultrasound procedures should be used for valid
reasons, for the shortest period of time, and at the
lowest mechanical/thermal index setting necessary
to produce clinically acceptable images . It may in-
jure patients .
• Note the following in regard to the terminals and
connectors on the lateral and rear sides of the sys-
tem .
– Connect and disconnect the LAN cable after the
power is turned OFF . Its performance cannot be
guaranteed if it is connected or disconnected
while the power is ON .
– When using a HUB, turn on the HUB first and
then the system .
• Pay attention to the following points when installing
this system .
– You can operate this system, using the touch
panel. Be sure to place the system on a flat sur-
face under stable conditions . Otherwise, the sys-
tem may become unbalanced and it is likely to
fall when you press on the touch panel and may
cause an injury .
– When you have installed this system on the Pole
Cart2 etc ., operation of the touch panel may
move the system to injure you. Lock and fix the
casters so that the system does not move during
an examination .
– To raise the height of a Pole Cart2, step on the
pedal while holding on to the Pole Cart2 handle .
To lower the height, step on the pedal while push-
ing both sides of the central part of the system
down from above . Do not apply excess force to
the front and back sides of the LCD monitor as it
may cause a failure of the monitor .
• Pay attention to the following points when carrying
this system .
– Before moving a system that is not installed on
the Pole Cart2, be sure to fold down the LCD
monitor and lock the LCD latch . When carrying
the system, hold it by the handle with the trans-
ducer in your hand .
– When moving a system that is installed on the
Pole Cart2, be sure to fold down the LCD monitor
and lock the LCD latch . When carrying the sys-
tem, hold it by the handle of the system .
If you move the system by holding any portion of
it other than the handle, it may overbalance and
cause personal injury .
– When the system is equipped with an optional
keyboard, house the keyboard before moving the
system .
• Store the ultrasound gel as described in the instruc-
tion manual . Otherwise, there is a risk of infection .
