8.3 Acoustic Standoff

Appropriately fit Acoustic Standoff so that
it is positioned as shown in the figures
below .

Put an appropriate amount of ultrasound
gel on the Acoustic Standoff area on the
lens surface of the transducer, and start
an examination .
z After use

Detach Acoustic Standoff from the trans-
ducer .
• Slowly detach it in reverse order of when at-
tached . The ultrasound gel may be spattered .

Wipe the ultrasound gel off the transducer
and Acoustic Standoff, and clean / disin-
fect each of them in turn according to the
instructions provided in "8 .3 .3 Cleaning
and Disinfection of Acoustic Standoff".

Wipe sterile water off Acoustic Standoff
with a clean cloth, and let it dry .

Cover Acoustic Standoff with a pair of
protective films, and put / store it in the
storage bag .
• Do not leave it on paper, plastic, etc .
• Avoid storing Acoustic Standoff in a place where
it can be exposed to direct sunlight, radiation
such as X-rays, and high temperature / humidity,
and store it in a dark place .
z Disposal
Please follow the rules and regulations of your relevant
authorities in the disposal of an Acoustic Standoff and
its packing materials .
(The materials used for the Acoustic Standoff are flam-
mable and do not leave any hazardous residue to the
environment after being burned .)
The Acoustic Standoff is categorized as industrial
waste . If you discard without being sterilized after use,
it could be categorized as specially controlled industrial
waste . Be sure to follow the rules and regulations of
the local governing body, and request an approved in-
dustrial waste disposal company to discard the Acous-
tic Standoff.
