Server Connection Preparation
Prepare the server to connect to the ETERNUS DX.
A host bus adapter (HBA) that matches the connection interface that is to be used and a driver for the HBA are
required. Some types of HBA require utility software. Prepare the required environment for the HBA that is to be
used by referring to the HBA manual.
To connect the server and the ETERNUS DX via a switch, setting up of the switch must be performed.
For details on this setting, refer to relevant manuals of the switch.

Server Connection Setup
Confirm that the work in
Turning On the Power to Completion of the Initial Setup" (page 20)
Connect the host interface cards of the ETERNUS DX with the Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) of the server using the
host interface cables.
The IP address to connect to the iSCSI network must be set on the server before the ETERNUS DX is connected.
After the server connection setup is completed, confirm that the volumes in the ETERNUS DX can be recognized
by the server.

Preparation and Setup for the Administration Terminal
The operation and management of the ETERNUS DX are performed by using a Web browser on the
administration terminal that is connected to the LAN for operation management (MNT port).
Prepare and set up the administration terminal in advance.

Prepare the administration terminal that contains the following environment:
