Phaser 340 Color Printer
Refer to the following tables if you encounter problems with the printer.

Media feeding or jamming problems

Symptom
Media feed or mispick
problems at the standard
tray.
Paper feed problems at
the lower paper tray.
Paper jamming inside
the printer.
Paper jamming at
manual feed slot.

Image quality problems

Symptom
Missing or light color
stripes on prints.
Ink streaks or oil on front,
back or edges of print.
Transparency print
quality poor.
Solution
Use standard office paper 16–32 lb. (60 – 120 g/m
Tektronix transparency media. Do not load the tray
beyond the fill line. Paper tray capacity is 200 sheets
paper or 50 sheets transparency. Transparency tray
capacity is 175 sheets transparency.
Refer to "Cleaning for media tray jams: media pick
rollers" on page 4-39.
Use standard office paper 16–32 lb. (60 – 120 g/m
not load the tray beyond the fill line. Paper tray capacity
is 500 sheets.
Remove and re-latch the maintenance tray. Refer to
"Replacing the maintenance tray" on page 4-8.
Refer to "Cleaning for ink smears: paper feed rollers" on
page 4-29.
Wait for the front panel prompt before feeding paper.
Align paper against the left edge of the manual feed slot.
Make sure the proper page size is selected for the slot.
Solution
Refer to "Cleaning for light stripes: printhead" on
page 4-23.
Do not print on both sides of the media. Ink may be
offset onto the internal paper path.
Refer to "Identifying cleaning solutions" on page 4-21.
Use Tektronix premium transparency media. Use the
transparency tray for printing transparencies and specify
Transparency in the Tektronix printer driver. Refer to
"Transparency quality tips" on page 3-28.
