Method 1: Using a Signal Generator
This procedure requires the Agilent 8648B signal generator. A similar signal
generator can be used, providing it meets or exceeds the frequency ranges of
your Agilent digital receiver and can produce an amplitude in the range of
-70 dBm to -50 dBm.
CAUTIONS
The input power to the Agilent digital receiver should not exceed -10 dBm.
Receiver measurements are not warranted for power levels between -10 dBm
and 10 dBm. Power levels greater than 10 dBm damage the instrument.
For optimum performance, it is recommended that no more than -25 dBm be
applied to the input of the Agilent digital receiver.
Do not connect the signal generator until you have checked the output power
level is below -10 dBm.
