Installing the Software
Before you begin installing the software, ensure that your computer system is
configured with the minimum requirements. Check
Recommendations, Minimum" on page 6-68
Follow These Steps
Do This
1 Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive,
choose Start>Run, and type d:\setup where
d: is the drive containing the software CD-
ROM. Click OK.
2 Click Next when you are ready to continue the
installation. Type your name and the name of
the company you work for, then click Next.
3 If you wish to install the program in a folder
other than the default, click Browse to display
text. When the correct destination folder
appears in the field, click Next.
4 Select the type of installation you want:
typical, compact, or custom, and click Next.
•Typical: Includes Agilent E74xx application,
online help files, tutorial and documentation.
•Compact: Includes Agilent E74xx application
and online help files
•Custom: Lets you select individual
components.

A Welcome dialog box appears instructing you to
close any currently running Windows
applications before you begin installation.
The "Choose Destination Location" dialog box
appears. The default folder for installation is
C:\Program Files\Agilent Technologies\E74xx
(depending on the system you're installing).
The Setup Type box appears.
The Destination Folder box appears.
Agilent Technologies recommends using the
Typical installation. Refer to
page 6-68
you have enough disk space available to perform
the Typical installation before proceeding.
