Test 64 x POTS/VoIP Cards

This sub-section details the functional checks for testing the POTS lines equipped in
the subrack. If POTS card testing is not required, skip this sub-section.
Note: The POTS Lines cannot be fully functionally tested at this stage because the
EDA 2530 has not yet been integrated ("Migrated") into the IP network and to the
Italtel Switch. Making a call over the POTS Lines cannot be performed until this has
been done.
9.3.1 Test 64 x POTS/VoIP Cards
Test all installed 64 x POTS/VoIP units (02HAT00198AAM).
The POTS lines will already be configured and Enabled in the EDA 2530 database
as detailed in Section 7.17. The POTS lines are to be tested by performing a
voltage check on all 64x lines at the HDF, as follows:-

Check that the 'Line Oper Status' of the line connected to the modem is
'Carrier ON', and that the activation parameters of the SHDSL line are
displayed.
Test 32 x SHDSL Unit Alarms (Steps h. to m.)
Switch off the SHDSL modem (or Golden Modem or Tester) and check that
a 'Loss of Signal' or 'Loss of Synch Word' alarm for the selected line
appears on the Alarm browser.
Power up the SHDSL modem (or Golden Modem or Tester) and check that
the 'Loss of Signal' or 'Loss of Synch Word' alarm for the selected line
disappears from the alarm browser.
Disconnect the SHDSL modem (or Golden Modem or Tester) from the HDF
Handover Frame LLUT block and check that the 'Loss of Signal' or 'Loss of
Synch Word' alarm for the selected line appears on the Alarm browser.
Reconnect the SHDSL modem (or Golden Modem or Tester) and check
that the 'Loss of Signal' or 'Loss of Synch Word' alarm for the selected line
disappears from the Alarm browser.
Repeat steps (a.) to (k.) for the other lines to be tested, each time moving
the SHDSL modem (Tester) to the next line pair to be tested on the HDF
Handin Frame LLUT block.
When all 32 lines have been tested on the 32 x SHDSL card click on the
Close button to close the window.
Repeat the test (steps a to m) for each new 32 x SHDSL Card.
