6.6 Connecting terminals and interfaces

Fixing screw for the protective cover
1. Unscrew the fixing screw for the protective cover on the CAN module.
2. Slide the protective cover against the insertion direction and remove it.
3. Connect connectors X11, X15 and X16.
4. Ensure that, inside the cover, the single-insulation is removed from the single cores at
least 5 mm from the cable entry openings, and the cores connected to the terminal
connectors are as short as possible.
5. Secure the cables inside the plastic cover against being pulled out through the oval
aperture in the relay cover. Use cable ties for this purpose, tie each of them tightly round
the cable.
Ensure that the cable tie is tied so that at least 5 mm of the outer cable jacket lies inside
the protective cover.
6. Provide additional strain relief by attaching more cable ties to the fixing points provided in
the housing.
7. Slide the protective cover in the insertion direction back into its correct position.
8. Retighten the fixing screw for the protective cover on the CAN module.
