Differences Between the S5-95U and the S5-95F
16.2

Parameter Initialization and Programming

16.2.1 Parameter Initialization in DB1
DB1 in the S5-95F is more comprehensive than for the S5-95U because more information is
needed for the operating system (such as, for instance, information required for maintaining
redundancy)
Automatic recognition of external I/Os
The COM 95F software package simplifies the initialization of DB1 parameters
16.2.2 Programming
Access to failsafe external I/Os is possible via even addresses only
Branching is possible only to the beginning of a string of logic operations
Different timer processing than that used for the S5-95U (see section 8.1.4)
The LIR, TIR, TNB and TBS operations are restricted in scope (see section 8.3)
The operation set which may be used in OB2 is restricted (refer to the subsections in Chapter
12 which deal with interrupt-driven program scanning)
The address allocation in the system data area and the meaning of various addresses have
been changed (see section 6.8)
All standard function blocks used must be prototype-tested
16.2.3 Integral Function Blocks
In addition to those also used in the S5-95U, the S5-95F has the following two additional integral
function blocks:
FB255 for depassivating passivated signal groups
FB252 for initializing additional tests
16.2.4 Acceptance Package
A special acceptance package has been developed for the S5-95F.
The acceptance package is delivered together with the COM 95F software, and greatly
simplifies acceptance testing of
