2 . I f any board i n the H P 3562A has been p u l led o u t o f its card nest with the power on,
check A7 U 504.
A. Initial Conditions Test
1 . D i scon nect the power cable from the rear panel and remove the top cove r. Pl ace the
A7 FPP on the 03562-6640 extender board .
2 .
Connect the power cable a n d p ress the l i ne switch o n .
3 . Check the fol lowing for correct val ue:

4 M H z
4. If the + 55 is not the correct val ue, go to paragraph 8-1 6, "A1 8 Power Su pply Assembly".
5 . I f the cause o f the fai l u re is sti l l not fou nd, g o to part B.
B. FPP Diagnostics
The FPP is tested using several self-tests. When a test is i n itiated, the A2 System C P U l oads
test data and FPP i n stru ctions i nto the A8 G l obal RAM (except in the Reset FPP test) and
com mands the FPP to perfo rm the test. After com pleting the test, the FPP sends the test
resu lts to gl obal RAM and an i nterrupt ( I RQT3L) to the system C P U . Any fai led bits and
the status of the i nterrupt are a n n u n c i ated on the d isp l ay. Several of these tests are also
used i n loop mode for s ignatu re a n a lysis patterns. Refer to part C for a desc ription of
each self-test.
