For A2 System C P U , A3 Program ROM, and system bus test fai l u res, the power-up
sequence stops on the fi rst fai l u re and d is p l ays the pass/error code, then stops.
For the G l obal RAM test fai l u res (ch art line #22 to #29), the powe r-u p sequence
d i s p l ays Hex B5 while the test tries to isolate the fai l u re (up to 3.5 m i nutes !), then
one of the fol lowi ng occ u rs :
a.
B5 (Hex) conti n ues to be d is p l ayed on the A2 Test L E Ds.
b . Another G l obal RAM test pass/eiror code is displayed and the sequence stops.
5 . I f the L E D s pass seq ue nce does not occu r, A2 DS1 is on, o r the i n stru me nt does
not d is p l ay the spec ial f u n ction menu when S PC L FCTN is pressed; go to part C .
6 . I f the L E Ds pass sequence occurs and the i n stru ment responds when SPC L FCTN
is pressed (the spec ial fu nction menu is d isp layed) but the d i sp l ay is defective,
an assem b l on the 10b..aLb. ..!J. .S.ID. .Ci. _ b
7. I f the L E Ds pass seq uence occ u rs but the i n stru ment does not respond when
SPCL FCTN is pressed, a contro l l ine may be defective, go to paragraph 7-1 0, "Control
L i ne Test".
B. Perfo rm this p roced u re (steps 1 through 1 3) if the d is p l ay is defective but the L E Ds
pass seq uence occu rs and the i nstr u m e nt responds when SPC L FCTN is pressed:
1 . Press the line switch off.
2. Remove the fol lowing ass e m b l ies:

A9 FFT
