2-1-6. Print Head Up/Down Detection Mechanism

The components of the print head up/down detection mechanism are:
(a) SA Head Up Sensor PCB (Head up sensor)
(b) Projection that engages with the photointerrupter
The print head up/down detection mechanism detects the up (open)/down (close) status of the
head block.
When the head block is in the up position, the projection "A" is disengaged from the
photointerrupter of the "SA Head Up Sensor PCB" (head up sensor). At this time, the
photointerrupter turns ON and "Low" level is output from the head up sensor.
When the head block is in the down position, the projection "A" is engaged in the photointerrupter.
At this time, the photointerrupter turns OFF and "High" level is output from the head up sensor.
The CPU on the "SA Main PCB" detects the up or down position of the head block by sensing the
output from the head up sensor.
