ADJUSTING THE SHIFT PEDAL/CHECKING THE FINAL
DRIVE OIL LEVEL/CHANGING THE FINAL DRIVE OIL
2. Adjust:
S shift pedal position
a. Loosen both locknuts 1 .
b. Turn the shift rod 2 in direction a or b to
obtain the correct shift pedal position.
! Shift pedal is raised.

! Shift pedal is lowered.

Direction
S Tighten both locknuts.

CHECKING THE FINAL DRIVE OIL LEVEL

1. Stand the motorcycle on a level surface.
NOTE:
S Place the motorcycle on a suitable stand.
S Make sure that the motorcycle is upright.
2. Remove:
S final drive housing oil filler bolt 1
3. Check:
S final drive oil level
The final drive oil level should be to the bot-
tom brim 2 of the filler hole.
Below the bottom brim ! Add the recom-
mended final drive oil to the proper level.
Recommended final drive oil
SAE 80 hypoid gear oil graded
"GL-4", "GL-5" or "GL-6"
or
multi-purpose SAE 80W 90
hypoid gear oil
4. Install:
S final drive housing oil filler bolt

CHANGING THE FINAL DRIVE OIL
1. Place a container under the final drive hous-
ing.
2. Remove:
S final drive housing oil filler bolt 1
S final drive housing oil drain bolt 2
Completely drain the final drive housing of its
oil.
3. Check:
S final drive housing oil drain bolt gasket
Damage ! Replace.
