REMOVING THE GENERATOR

1. Remove:
S generator rotor bolt 1
S washer
NOTE:
S While holding the generator rotor with the
sheave holder 2 , loosen the generator rotor
bolt.
S Do not allow the sheave holder to touch the
projection on the generator rotor.

2. Remove:
S generator rotor 1
(with the flywheel puller set 2 )
S woodruff key
Flywheel puller set

CHECKING THE STARTER CLUTCH

1. Check:
S starter clutch rollers 1
Damage/wear ! Replace.
2. Check:
S starter clutch idler gear 1
S starter clutch drive gear 2
S starter clutch gear
Burrs/chips/roughness/wear
the defective part(-s).
3. Check:
S starter clutch gear's contacting surfaces
Damage/pitting/wear ! Replace the starter
clutch gear.
