Known Client Configuration

The Known Client Configuration page allows you to add wireless clients to the Known Client Database and
specify the authentication action to take on the client when it attempts to access the network. The database
contains wireless client MAC addresses and names. The database is used to retrieve client descriptive names
from the RADIUS server as well as implement MAC Authentication.

• Refresh—Updates the page with the latest information.
• Submit—Updates the switch with the values you enter. To retain the new values across a power cycle,
you must perform a save (Tool > Save Changes).

Description
Shows the MAC address of the client. To view or configure the name
or authentication action for another client in the Known Client
database, select its MAC address from the menu.
Enter a descriptive name for the client, which can contain up to 32
alphanumeric characters. This field is optional.
Specify the action to take on a wireless client when MAC
authentication is enabled on the network. The following options are
available:
• Grant—Allow the client with the specified MAC address to access
the network.
• Deny—Prohibit the client with the specified MAC address from
accessing the network.
• Global Action—Use the global white-list or black-list action
configured on the Advanced Global Configuration page to
determine how to handle the client.
