Step
1
Turn off the printer by unplugging the power cord. Wait
for 10 seconds, and turn on the printer. Run the scan job
again.

Are you running the scan job from the ADF?

Check the scan setting. Set the paper settings according
to the type and size of the original document.
Does the problem remain?

Check if the paper guides of the ADF input tray are
properly set. Move the paper guides to the center, and
check if the distance to the center is equal for both paper
guides.
Are the paper guides free from any damage?

Check if the ADF pick assembly and separation pad are
not worn out and contaminated.
Are the ADF pick assembly and separation worn and
contaminated?

Check if the ADF door is properly installed. Check if the
ADF paper path rollers are not contaminated.
Is the ADF door free from damage?
Check for any obstruction on the paper path.

Is the paper path free from obstruction?

Check for any stain, dirt, or obstruction in the scan area
on the flatbed glass plate.
Check for any obstruction on the alignment edge of the
flatbed scanner.
Clean the glass with a piece of cloth. Clear the scan
area from any stain, dirt and obstruction.
