the previous
cutling operations.
DO NOT
use
Inpping
compound after
the
final
cut
is
made.
The
finished valve
seat
shotlld have a
velvcly
snlooth finis11 and not
a
highly polished or
shiny Finish. This will provide a soft sz~rface
for the final seating o f
the valve which will
occur during the first few seconds of engine
opera tion.
5. Clean and assemble the head and valve
components. Fill the intake and exhaust
ports with gasoline to check
For
leaks. If any
leaks occur. inspect the
valve
seat and face
for hurrs or other things that could prevent
t h e
valve
from sealing.

end face o f the
valve

a valve
refacer,
thereby shortening the overall length
of
the
valve.
