FINAL DRIVE BEVEL GEAR
ASSEMBLY
REMOVAL AND DISASSEMBLY
NOTE:
Re
sirre
to
retain all adjusting shims
f o r
reassem hlv.
Place an oil pan under
the
final drive bevel
gear assembly, remove the drain
plug
and
drain the oil.
Remove
the rear wheel assembly
(See
page
1 1-39)

Remove
three
nuts attaching the Final
drive
housing to the
swing
arm, and move
the
housing to
the
rear
to
detach
it
from
the
swing
arm.
Remove
ten final gear bearing
case
bolts.
(Fig. 8-6)

To remove the final gear bearing cover
from thc housing,
use two
6 rnm screws;
screw
them into
the holes provided and
draw the cover off evenly.
