11d. Disconnect the plug that connects the fan
to the main wiring harness. That plug is
between the cooling matrix and the dash
panel, and the lock-tabs are on the short
side of each plug. See Figure 8.77.

11e. Make provision to collect coolant drained
from the radiator.

Open the drain valve on the lower front
edge of the radiator. There is a channel in
the threads that begins about 1/4" from
the head. It will begin to drain as soon as
the channel clears the threads in the
lower radiator tank. See Figure 8.78.

11g. Remove the radiator cap
to speed draining.

NOTE: With the coolant drained from only the
radiator, it can be removed with minimal fluid
loss and minimal drainage.
11h. Disconnect the front radiator hose from the
lower (front) radiator tank using a 5/16"
driver.

Cap or tape the hose to prevent contami-
nation and minimize spillage.

Pull the over-flow tube (connecting the
reservoir to the fitting on the radiator filler
neck) out of the cap to the reservoir.
11k. Remove the hex-head screws that hold the
cooling matrix to the frame using a 3/8"
wrench. There are holes in the air baffle
for socket access. See Figure 8.79.
