RAID System and RAID Controller

When the server configuring RAID system does not operate properly, or when the management
utility does not operate properly, check the following points. If there is any corresponding items,
follow the procedure.
Unable to install OS.
■ Is RAID controller configured?
→ Configure the RAID controller properly with using Web BIOS.
Unable to start OS.
■ Is BIOS setting of the RAID controller changed?
→ Set BIOS setting of the RAID controller properly with using Web BIOS.
■ Is RAID controller recognized on POST?
→ Check the RAID controller is connected properly first and power on the server.
→ If the RAID controller is connected properly but not recognized, the RAID controller may have a
failure. Contact the maintenance service company or the reseller on this issue.
Unable to rebuild.
■ Is the capacity of the hard disk drive to rebuild sufficient?
→ Prepare the same capacity hard disk drive as the failed disk drive.
■ Is the new hard disk drive used ?
→ Remove the failed hard disk drive and insert the new hard disk drive.
■ Is the logical drive RAID0?
→ Rebuild is unavailable for RAID0 as it has no redundancy. Replace the hard disk drive that
became "FAIL," create configuration information again, initialize the hard disk drive, and then
restore the hard disk drive.
Unable to execute auto rebuild.
■ Is there sufficient duration when replacing the hard disk drives (Hot swapping)?
→ To function the auto rebuild, 90 seconds or more duration is required between removing and
inserting the hard disk drive.
■ Is the new hard disk drive used ?
→ Remove the failed hard disk drive and insert the new hard disk drive.
Hard disk drive became "Fail."
→ Contact the maintenance service company or the reseller for this issue.
