・ Description
SOL(Serial Over LAN) is the structure to communicate with the client computer using serial
console data of the host OS on the LAN(RMCP+).
It is possible to use SOL via LAN wirh the client software which applies to RMCP+ such as
IPMItool or ipmiutil.
If using "oemnecsol", there is no need to prepare the client software which supports RMCP+
and it is possible to use SOL on general terminal software.
Below shows the flow to use SOL.The user authentication is needed two times.
When it is the first login, the user name is "sol" and the password is "sol".
At the second login, the user account which is registerd by Server Web console is used.
1. Connect to the management firmware using TELNET/SSH

Password: sol
2. The prompt of the SMASH-CLP is displayed
->
3. Execute oemnecsol command
-> oemnecsol <baud rate>
PM_login: <login name for PM> <- Resistered by Server Web console
PM_password: <password for PM> <- Resistered by Server Web console
4. SOL connection to the host OS is available
5. Close SOL connection ( Input "CTRL+B")
6. Terminate SMASH-CLP
-> exit
Specify Baud rate by the bpm(bit per second)
HINT:
• The default baud rate value is "115200".
• Because the baud rate for the host OS is different depending
on the OS, set the proper value for the OS.
For example, the value which is set by BIOS will be used when
Microsoft Windows. It depends on the baud rate value which is
set for Kernel parameter when RedHat Enterprise Linux.
• Set the screen size of the terminal software as 80x24.
• At the login authentification of second time or more, null user
account is usable. It is following IPMI.
