Installing the
NVRAM III battery
Chapter 7: Replacing Internal Chassis Components
To install the NVRAM III battery, complete the following steps.
WARNING WARNING
Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the
same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer. Dispose of used
batteries according to manufacturer's instructions.

Step Action
1 Insert the NVRAM III battery into the battery carrier in the chassis,
and flip the retaining clip up to secure the battery in place.
2 Plug the electrical cable into the J1 connector on the NVRAM III
adapter.
3 Go to "Closing the PCB carrier" on page 110.
