    Before moving the enclosure, you can remove all Power Supply Units (PSUs) and I/O Modules (IOMs) to minimize weight. ◦ A fully loaded DS4243 or DS4246 disk shelf can weigh approximately 110 lbs. (50 kg). ◦ A fully loaded DS2246 disk shelf can weigh approximately 49 lbs (22 kg).

    Disk shelves do not need to be grounded; grounding is done through the power cords. • If you are installing the disk shelf in an equipment rack or NetApp cabinet, you must install the two-post telco tray kit or four-post rail kit that came with your disk shelf.

    DS4243, DS2246, DS4486, and DS4246 Installation and Service Guide Changing the disk shelf ID Changing the disk shelf ID You can change a shelf ID in a system when ONTAP is not yet running or when hot-adding a shelf prior to it being cabled to the system. You can also change a shelf ID when ONTAP is up and running (controller modules are available to serve data) and all disk drives in the shelf are unowned, spares, or part of offlined aggregate(s).

If there is no completed worksheet for your configuration, fill out a worksheet template.
