Using Full Seg/1Seg
Full Seg/1Seg is a service provided by TV broadcasters
(broadcast stations), etc. Transmission charges are not
incurred for receiving images, voice and sound. For details
on NHK viewing fees, contact NHK.
When watching Full Seg, reception of data broadcasting is
not available.
You can operate recording while watching a program in Full
Seg, but the recorded data is a watching data for 1Seg.
Reserving recording is only available for 1Seg.
Available information in the area of data broadcasting for
1Seg watching is "data broadcasting" and "data broadcast
site" information.
"Data broadcasting" information is carried in a broadcast,
together with images, voice and sound, and "data
broadcasting site" information is used to access sites
provided by the TV broadcaster (broadcast station).
Packet communication charge is applied when accessing a
site such as a "data broadcasting site" or others.
Some sites require information charges to be used.
About signal
Full Seg/1Seg is one of the broadcasting services, and the
receiving signal (broadcast) differs from that of the Xi/FOMA
service. For this reason, the signal cannot be received at places
where the broadcast does not reach or while broadcasting is
out of service, regardless of whether the terminal is outside or
inside the Xi/FOMA service area.
Also, in the following places, the signal status may become
weak or the signal may not be received even if the terminal is
inside the area of a terrestrial TV broadcasting service.
Places that are far from the broadcast transmission tower
Places where the signal is disrupted due to the landscaper or
structures such as mountain areas or behind buildings
Places where the signal is weak or does not reach, such as
tunnels, basements, or places inside buildings
Fully extending the TV/FM transmitter antenna and changing
its direction or moving to other place may improve signal
reception. P81
Activating TV

From the Home screen,
TV watching screen appears.
When you activate 1Seg for the first time, read the
terms of use, tap [
channel list corresponding to the watching area. P91
By default, watching mode for Full Seg/1Seg is set to [
(Auto switch)] To switch the watching mode,
on the TV watching screen, tap
(1Seg)]/[
the watching controller. You can check the current
watching mode while watching by
(blue : Full Seg) icon on the status bar. When [
(Auto switch)] is set, 1Seg/Full Seg can be switched
automatically depending on signal condition.
If the terminal returns to the Home screen or goes into
the sleep mode while receiving TV program, only sound
of TV comes out with Background play function. To end
Background play, return to the TV watching screen,
double-tap
end TV. Background play ends after 2 hours elapses.
