rod with the same weight code as the original. But if that is
unavailable, you may use one of the others specified in the fol
lowing chart.

Install the bearing inserts on the rods and caps .
NOTE
Align the boss on the bearing with the groove in the rod or
•
cap.
Apply molbdenum disulfide grease to the bearing.
•
Install the connecting rods and caps on the crankpin. Be sure
each part is i nstalled i n its original position, as noted during re
mova l .
Tighten t h e bearing c a p nuts.
NOTE
Align the I . D . code on the cap and rod .
•
Tighten the nuts in two or more steps. After tightening,
•
check that the rods move freely without binding.
TORQUE : 34 N · m (3.4 kg-m, 25 ft-lbl

Install t h e crankshaft in the left crankcase .
Install the dowel pins and assemble the crankcase .
