3. Start Charging

There are two ways to charge the battery: rapid charging, in which the battery is a charged in a short time, and
refresh charging, in which the battery is charged while recovering the battery performance.

3.1 Rapid Charging Procedure

3.2 "Refresh" Charging Procedure

Display battery
1) Turn on the power after installing the battery. If the battery temperature is
appropriate, the charging light (green) will light, and charging will start.
Charging is completed in approximately one to two hours.
2) When the battery temperature is high (40°C or above) or low (5°C or less),
the stand-by light (yellow) will light until the battery reaches the appropriate
temperature. When the battery temperature is appropriate, the charging light
(green) will light, and charging will start automatically. The stand-by time will
vary depending on the conditions, but it will take approximately one to two
hours.
3) The battery capacity lamps indicate the progress of battery charging.
These lamps serve as a guide for the time remaining until charging is
completed.
4) When charging is completed, the charging lamp (green) of the charger and
the battery capacity lamps go off automatically.
In refresh charging, complete discharging and charging are performed
automatically. By completely discharging, then charging the nickel hydrogen
battery, the battery performance can be revitalized and decreasing of its
capacity can be prevented.
1) Set the battery in the charger.
2) If the battery needs to be refreshed, the refresh lamp (yellow) blinks to
indicate theat the battery should be refresh charged. When the start button is
pressed while the refresh lamp is blinking (for about 10 seconds), the refresh
lamp lights up and refreshing of the battery is started.
3) As with charging, the battery capacity lamps indicate the progress of
battery refreshing. The refreshing time will differ according to the battery
capacity.
