have a walking impediment. The wheelchair can be moved either by the patient themself or by another person.

Warranty

The Otto Bock Warranty applies only when the product is used according to the specific conditions and for the

Range of Application

The E-Support is a servo-assisted power-assist accessory for manual wheelchairs. It is operated by moving the
push rings. This principle improves the user's mobility by amplifying the remaining residual forces of the wheelchair
user. This system has been designed to be used by patients with walking impediments / inability with low arm forces
due to:
• Palsies
• Paralysis
• Loss of limbs (lower limb amputation)
• Defective / deformed limbs
• Joint contractures / defects
• Diseases like cardiac / circulatory insufficiency, balance disorders, or cachexia
• Multiple sklerosis
• Muscular dystrophy
• Geriatrics
The E-Support is mounted to the wheelchair in exchange for the existing rear wheels.
This system was specially designed for individuals who will be able again to independently move in a whelchair due
to this additional support.
Fitting considerations:
• Body height and weight (max. load is 120 kg (263 lbs.)) • Age of the user
• Physical and psychological limitations

Declaration of Conformity

Otto Bock as manufacturer with sole responsibility declares that the E-Support in combination with the approved
wheelchair models conforms to the requirements of the 93/42/EEC Guidelines.

Introduction

Thank you very much for purchasing the E-Support. The E-Support is operated by using the push rings, in the same
way as a manual wheelchair. However, there are several operational aspects which differ from those of a manual
wheelchair due to the Power Assist System. Generally speaking, when riding in a wheelchair, there is a potential
danger of injury or damage to the wheelchair from misuse, depending on the road surface or traffic conditions.
Traveling unaccompanied may be very dangerous, depending on the conditions and the disabilities of the rider.
Before using the wheelchair, be sure that both rider and attendant read this manual thoroughly, to assure safe and
comfortable use.
