• fit the battery and ensure it is correctly seated;
• connect the battery cables;
• connect: the positive pole (+) to the RED cables ; the negative pole (-) to the BLACK cables;
• tighten the battery terminals fully;
• refit the previously removed 30A main fuse;
• make sure battery and wiring are correctly positioned and then refit the cover;
• refit the partition and reposition the mats.

REMOVING THE BATTERY

• Remove the 30A main fuse;
• gain access to the battery as described in the "Installing the battery" heading;
• unscrew the battery terminals to disconnect the RED (+) and BLACK (-) cables;
• remove the battery;
• refit the 30A main fuse.
When performing the operations described above, take care not to damage parts in the vicinity
(transmissions, wiring, seals, etc.).
Do not use the scooter unless the battery has been fitted and connected to the main wiring harness
cables. This action may cause faults and short circuits on the electrical system and its components.
NEVER invert battery cable connection polarity.
If the battery is allowed to discharge completely and allowed to remain in this condition it will
deteriorate rapidly.
NOTE Use protective gloves and goggles when removing the battery, e.g. for recharging.
RECHARGING THE BATTERY
• It is good practice to remove the battery from the scooter to recharge it;
• disconnect the cables;
• it is good practice to recharge with an amperage ratio of 1/10 with respect to that of the charged battery;
• refit the battery, ensuring you connect the positive cable (red) to the "+" pole and the negative cable (black) to
the "–" pole;
• It is important to keep the battery fully charged at all times; therefore, the battery should be charged at least once
a month during winter months or when the scooter is not used for prolonged periods.
Danger of explosion! Never approach the battery with naked flames (lighters, matches, etc.).
The battery contains highly toxic sulphuric acid. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothes.
Keep the battery out of children's reach.
